A TALENTED 11-year-old has been busy making his name in London, starring in a popular West End musical.
Monty Payne, from Calne, has shown off his acting and Grade 6 piano skills in the production of School of Rock showing at Gillian Lynne Theatre.
Kingsbury Green student plays Lawrence in the show and is really enjoying being part of the cast.
He said: "I’m loving it - it’s really fun. We have such a fantastic time on stage.
"On the week that we are performing, we stay in London so that we are close to the theatre. It can be challenging to be without my parents, but I am with my School of Rock family which is always fun."
Monty has never had professional coaching and his previous acting experience comes from a show he did at The Wharf, Devizes.
He was picked for his piano-playing prowess in the national auditions.
His mum, Georgia Browne, said: "It's a really fun and wonderful experience for him. We've seen the show about six times and it is actually amazing."
