TV licence rethink

One of the items Boris Johnson has agreed to look at is the scandalous fee demanded by the BBC to view the never ending drivel they class (that’s the ivory tower set) world class broadcasting.

And if there was no licence fees collected to pay for this drivel, some £3.1billion per year, it would affect programme quality and service.

Well I’ve just checked in my Tory loving paper the TV page on Wednesday 18th Dec and on BBC1 from 8 to 10.30pm.

All that’s on is The Apprentice Why I Fired Them, The Apprentice. Then, to add insult The Apprentice: You’re Hired.

That’s 2.5 hours of prime time TV taken up with this load of drivel.

If that’s quality programming maybe it’s time for a change in the ivory tower of the BBC.

Maybe it’s time to force the luvvies in the BBC to get into the 21st century and do what all the other channels have to do to make and pay for programmes and that’s earn it through advertising and get away from the thought that we are a never ending supply of cash.

Maybe there’s a way of shutting off the BBC channel totally and not paying the licence fee and just watch the other channels.

It seems they not only pay themselves vast amounts of licence fee-funded salary, but insist the pot pays for lifts to and from work, in one particular breakfast host’s case to the tune of £30,000.

How many more luvvies get this perk and they want to axe the free license for the over 75s?

Time for a change people, a monumental change just happened in Parliament what’s next I wonder.

Perplexing question

I cannot for the life of me understand why property tycoon and ex-PM Tony Blair, who has over 30 rental properties and a portfolio worth over £30 million, along with a personal fortune of over £65 million, has been appearing on my TV several times today in a vindictive and ruthless attempt to try and destroy and rubbish Jeremy Corbyn’s character and legacy of ‘For the many not the few’; which is going to become much more poignant in the next five years.

It also does seem very strange that seemingly this is the only ex-PM of the UK that feels so unsafe in travelling around the country that he is escorted by personal body guards.

Could it possibly have anything to do with illegal wars, Ending free education, and PFI by chance?

Help is there

Christmas is a time for celebrating and spending quality time with the people you love.

However, it can be a difficult time of year if you’re living with terminal illness or if you’re caring for a loved one with a terminal illness.

More than one million people in the UK are expected to be caring for someone with a terminal illness during what could be their last Christmas together.

Many will find themselves struggling to cope with the demands and pressures of the festive season, and they may not know where to turn to for extra support.

The Marie Curie Information and Support Line (0800 090 2309) is here to help. Readers can call the free, confidential line and speak to a Marie Curie Nurse if they have health questions or concerns about any aspect of terminal illness from understanding a diagnosis to explaining treatments and discussing symptoms. Our trained Support Line Officers can also provide practical information and emotional support.
