A MAN in his 50s died after being hit by a train near Swindon around 8am on Thursday.
British Transport Police received a call to the scene at 8.32am.
A spokesman said: “Officers attended but, sadly, a man aged in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
Railway lines were blocked and services from Swindon station to Bristol Parkway, Chippenham and Westbury have been cancelled.
After some disruption the schedules, the lines reopened around 10.45am.
