FEARS have been raised on social media over the future of the Cineworld at Regents Circus, where Morrisons shut its doors before Christmas.

But a spokesman confirmed today the company has no plans to close its town centre branch.

Commenting on the Old Town Facebook page, Danny Marsh said he had been unable to book tickets at the venue beyond January 14 and that the escalator was not working.

Bookings can be made at its sister cinema in Shaw Ridge for films being released in May.

This prompted a raft of similar comments lamenting the possible loss of the cinema, which only opened its doors five years ago.

Alison Onslow commented: “I loved it when it first opened, especially as I can walk there easily but now it rarely shows the films I want to see and has no special events, such as senior morning.”
