MYSTERY surrounds the latest pub closure in the Swindon area.

The Prince of Wales pub on the Coped Hall roundabout in Royal Wootton Bassett has been shut since the end of last year.

It is owned by ei publican partnerships – formerly known as Enterprise Inns.

The pub is listed on the company’s website and available to would-be custodians for £18,000 a year in rent.

A quote from the regional manager reads: “Very much established as a popular locals and family pub within its community, the Prince of Wales now needs to be taken to the next level by attracting trade from a wider audience.

“An experienced applicant would be ideally suited, who can develop a wide ranging menu that appeals to a number of demographics.”

Commenting on Facebook, people from the town suggested the pub needed to modernise and improve its menu in order to thrive.
