POLICE undergoing a training course got to put their skills to the test in a real-life situation when a speeding Mini interrupted their lesson.
Officers from the Driver Training Unit and Specialist Operations were in the Swindon area as part of their initial phase pursuit training.
During one of their training scenarios, a black Mini suddenly became “startled” by their presence and sped off.
After trying to evade the pursuing police, the car was found and boxed in by officers to prevent it causing any unnecessary risk to the public.
It was seized under Section 165 for carrying no insurance and the female driver was reported.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Even when we are in training or on a course, we are still on duty and will always protect the public.”
