POLICE on patrol around the Parks, Walcot and Eldene carried out stop-and-searches and dealt with anti-social behaviour from young people.

PCSO John and PS Fay from the Swindon Central South CPT Neighbourhood Team spent three hours of their Saturday evening cycling 15 miles around the area.

They had the chance to engage with members of the local community, conduct a number of intelligence-led stop searches and disperse several groups of youths who had been acting "in an anti-social manner".

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Wiltshire Police are committed to reducing criminality and anti-social behaviour in our communities and the information that local residents provide us plays a key part in our activities. We encourage our communities to continue to contact us with information on activity affecting their neighbourhoods by calling 101 or calling anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
