A WOMAN has been flown to hospital in Bristol after she was hit by a car near Ashton Keynes.
Police said the woman sustained life-threatening injuries.
The crash, which happened at around 7am on Tuesday morning, has closed the crossroads at Spine Road East/West and the B4696 North End.
The road is likely to remain closed for some time.
A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: “We were called shortly after 7am this morning to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on the B4696 just north of Ashton Keynes.
“The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, has been flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
“There are a number of road closures in place while we deal with the incident so would urge motorists to avoid the area at this time.”
