A SWINDON man accused of attacking two others in Trowbridge will appear before a judge next month.
Andrew Smith has been charged with GBH and assault by beating. It follows an incident in the early hours of Friday, January 10, near the Kings Arms pub on Castle Street.
A couple were allegedly attacked near a black Vauxhall Corsa, which was parked in the area. The man, 20s, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. His companion, a local woman in her 20s, was treated at the scene.
Appearing before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning, Smith, 24, of Stratford Close, Toothill, spoke only to confirm his personal details. He entered no pleas to charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and assault by beating.
He was remanded in custody and is due before Swindon Crown Court on Friday, February 14 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
