JACK and the Beanstalk will be taking the stage next week.

Tiverton Players have chosen the classic pantomime to entertain audiences at Gorse Hill Community Centre.

Mollie Tanner founded the group more than 70 years ago but died in November.

So this pantomime is an important one for the group.

Debbie Knotts from the Players said: "Molly had been running it for decades but after she died we decided to do this show in memory of her.

"Jack and the Beanstalk is a classic and we have a huge surprise for our giant, the children will love it. There will be the traditional story of the beanstalk, the giant and Jack but we've also made it a bit different."

The group has always been close to Debbie's heart and she really puts her all into the shows.

She said: "I've been a part of the group now for 20 years and each show is made with a group effort.

"My parents did it and my grandparents, so its always been a thing for our family. But its grown and now many different people are apart of it, it's great."

The pantomime will be showing from January 22 to 25.

Doors will be open at 7pm for the show to start at 7.30pm at the centre on Chapel Street.

Tickets cost £7 for adults, £5 for children and concession, family tickets (two adults and two children) are £20.
