The third Monday of January is typically known as ‘Blue Monday’ but the Swindon and District branch of Samaritans is looking to change that.
In launching Brew Monday next week, the charity is encouraging people to get together for a cup of tea and a chat with someone who might be feeling lonely and to raise funds for the Samaritans.
People can help support the charity by heading along to the Baristocats in Commercial Road, Coffee No 1 in Canal Walk or The Olive Tree at Manor Garden Centre. The locations will be handing out free PG Tips tea bags as well.
Darren Tee, volunteer director at the Swindon and District Samaritans, said: “During the cold and grey winter months, connecting with others over a cuppa can help weather the ups and downs of life.
“Anyone can hold a Brew Monday event, all you need is a kettle and some mugs.”
