TWO men were injured after being attacked by a gang in separate incidents close to Morrisons in Eldene.
A 35-year-old was walking in the Stubsmead area when he was surrounded by the group and hit on the head with an unknown object. The assault, which caused brusing and swelling and saw the man fall to the floor, happened at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, January 8.
Around an hour later, in the same place, a 41-year-old man was attacked with what police described as a multi-tool style item. It caused lacerations to his arm, stomach and hands.
The injuries were superficial and no medical treatment was required.
Investigating officer Katey Baker said: “It is extremely fortunate that these incidents didn’t result in more serious injuries, however, both victims were left feeling understandably distressed and frightened.
“I appreciate the concern for local residents when incidents like this take place. As a result, we have increased patrols in the area since the incidents and these patrols are continuing regularly, so please do not be alarmed if you see an increased police presence in the area.”
