A BOOK telling the story of two Swindon mums who had to cope with their children’s heroin addiction is launched at WH Smith in the town centre tomorrow.

The authors, Julie Rose of Covingham and sisters Sarah and Michelle Cowell from Park North, want Tenacity to help other families suffering the fallout from substance abuse.

Michelle said: “It talks about all of the experience that we’ve had and we really hope it could help others.

“We want it to be used as an information tool as well as a deterrent.”

The non-fiction account is made up of two short stories. One from Julie and the other from Sarah and Michelle’s mum Marilyn.

It is illustrated with family photographs and the two stories are closely connected because the two addicted sons knew each other.

Michelle said: “We hope the book can do well and that people come out and buy it. It’s a local title and we want our experiences to help those going through something similar.”

The launch is at WH Smith between 11am and 5pm and the three writers will be available to sign copies.
