BURGLARS stole jewellery worth around £1,000 in one of two burglaries being investigated by police.

Burglars smashed the back windows of a house in Holborn, Lydiard Milicent on Tuesday and stole cash and jewellery. Officers conducted house-to-house enquiries as part of their investigation.

In a similar incident on Thursday, a house in Deansfield, Cricklade was broken into after patio doors were smashed. Stolen jewellery included a Pulsar rose gold watch with a mother of pearl face and diamonds, a Quartz styled silver watch and a Diesel silver watch.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "If you have any further information or CCTV, please report it.

"We are increasing our patrols and working with our specialist operations unit and Neighbourhood Watch partners to try and prevent further crime.

"Please can you continue to be vigilant, spread the word to your neighbours and family and review the security of your property and valuables.
