POLICE have closed off Regent Street after firefighters were called to deal with dumped roof tiles earlier this evening.
It is suspected the roof tiles contain asbestos.
Regent Street is shut between Edgeware Road and the Barclays bank.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Swindon fire station was called to the scene at around 8.30pm to reports of a number of roof tiles on the ground.
Police remain at the scene.
