A TEENAGER accused of stabbing another six times in the legs and buttocks will face a crown court judge next month.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named because he is under-18, appeared before Swindon Youth Court this afternoon charged with GBH with intent, affray, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of cannabis.

The boy spoke only to confirm his name.

He entered no pleas to the four charges.

Magistrates remanded him in custody to appear before Swindon Crown Court on February 21. They told him the youth court could not deal with his case as the likely custodial sentence he would receive if convicted of wounding with intent would be significantly longer than the two-year maximum available to them.

The boy’s court appearance follows a stabbing on Friday afternoon Police were called at 3pm to reports of a fight on Mattocks Path, East Wichel.

A man in his 20s was stabbed six times in the buttocks and legs. The wounds required stitches.
