Police are looking to speak to a man after an 11-year-old Carlisle girl received an injury to her forehead.

A Cumbria Police spokesman explained: "Police would like to speak and trace to a man of unknown age described as being white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build and wearing dark clothing."

The incident police are investigating involved "a dog which resulted in the child receiving an injury to her forehead."

The incident took place on January 18, at about 3.30pm in the park behind Lund Crescent.

The man police would like to speak to "was accompanied at the time by a German Shepherd-type dog, black and light tan in colour, wearing a blue collar with bones imprinted on it."

The spokesman added: "If you have witnessed the incident in question or recognise the description of the male and/or the dog please contact PC 2782 Michael Stafford on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log number 152 of January 18."
