FIREFIGHTERS had to help an ambulance crew get to an elderly woman who had fallen down the stairs at her home.
Paramedics were called to the house in Cricklade at 1.15am yesterday.
A Wiltshire Fire Service spokesman said they had to call for assistance from the fire brigade to get into the building.
Paul Price, crew manager at Cricklade fire station, which answered the call, told the Advertiser: “We responded to a call following an elderly lady falling down her stairs.
He added: “The team helped to safely manoeuvre her into the ambulance and she was awake and aware when we left the scene.”
The South Western Ambulance Service confirmed the incident took place but was not able to comment further.
