A DYSLEXIC author will visit Red Oaks Primary School next month to chat to children about her disability and the environment.

Emily Thuysbaert will pop in to the the school on February 3 to inspire the youngsters and encourage them to be more environmentally-friendly

The school makes provisions for deaf children who use BSL and children with complex learning needs. Alongside this, it is a dyslexic-friendly and values-based education-accredited school.

Emily said: "I wanted to visit this school to see how they have integrated this inclusivity into school life.

"I am a great believer that hearing people lived experiences of a disability will show children that nothing is out of their reach. This is my dyslexia awareness mission to allow children to dream big.

"On the day I will be reading my latest book Crinkle The Weird Fish, which will teach the children about the impact of plastic waste on our oceans, our climate and our health.

"David Attenborough wrote to me to say that he hopes Crinkle proves to be a great success."
