River Island is planning to open a second Swindon store at the Orbital Shopping Park.
Plans submitted to Swindon Borough Council show the signage for the new store, as well as its location next to M&S and opposite McDonald’s.
The opening date of the store has not yet been revealed, neither has the amount of jobs it will create.
The company has dismissed speculation that its town centre store will be closing, after this week's announcement Topshop was leaving – pointing to the lease it has in place until December of this year.
But it added negotiations had not yet started on extending those terms.
The fashion retailer will open up alongside the planned Lidl, which will take over the Homebase unit next door.
Plans for the grocery store were approved by the council last June and the store was expected to open in early 2020.
These two additions will come as a welcome contrast to the number of shops which left Swindon in 2019.
This year, a Smyths Toys and Home Bargains are due to open, as well as the arrival of American fast food chain Five Guys at the Outlet and an independent Lebanese restaurant at Regent Circus.
