An arthritis support group is encouraging people to join them to get the help they need.

Swindon Versus Arthritis meets on the first Friday of every month between 11am to 12.30pm at the Gorse Hill Community Centre.

The group aims to support those struggling with osteoarthritis, the most common type of arthritis. It starts with the breakdown of cartilage in joints.

A spokesperson for the group said: β€œIt is free to join our friendly, positive group, offering you a safe place to talk freely about the difficulties of coping with this often very painful condition.”

Arthritis refers to the pain, swelling and stiffness of joints sufferers feel.

Around 10 million people in the UK are thought to have arthritis.
