The Post Office wants to hear people's views about its plan to move the Wroughton branch to the Midcounties Co-op on Devizes Road.
The High Street Co-op in which it is currently based will close in April, so a new location has been found in another Co-op just up the road.
Maria Rooney said of the shop closure: “The soul is being ripped out of our village.”
A Post Office spokesman said: “We are now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation and we are looking for feedback about accessibility, local community issues and anything that we can do to make life easier for our customers.”
This would be a new-style local Post Office, open Monday to Sunday 8am to 8pm with services provided from two serving points alongside the retail counter of the convenience store.
The consultation will close on March 6. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 203548.
