New College will launch its first Apprenticeship Awards this week.

Nominations are open to employers and assessors that work with the college. There are three award categories: best overall contribution to an organisation, outstanding achievement in a project or task, and assessors' choice learning award.

One winner for each category will be picked by a panel of staff from New College and announced during National Apprenticeship Week. Each winner will receive an Amazon voucher of £100.

Between Monday 13th January and Monday 10th February, the College aims to get 28 Apprenticeship vacancies identified with employers - and are still on the lookout for employers who can help to make it happen!

The total will be announced at the end of National Apprenticeship Week, which runs from February 3 to 7.

Business development and employer engagement vice principal Chris Baish said: "The week is a great way for the college, its employer partners and the apprentices themselves to promote and celebrate the impact that apprenticeships can have, and to bust a few myths along the way about who can study them.

"What we offer really challenges the idea that apprenticeships are only for getting young people into traditional trades.

"With our 28 Apprenticeships in 28 days campaign it will be fantastic to see people at all stages of their career being offered new opportunities to develop and progress.”
