The family of a Wilton man who died after a crash say he was a "devoted father, loving son, brother, uncle and friend to so many".
Nicholas Lee Thomas, 43, died after a silver Citroen ZX Aura was involved in a collision on Fyfield Lane in Andover, near the junction for Fyfield Road, in the early hours of Sunday, January 19.
In a statement released via Hampshire Constabulary, the family said: “Nick was a devoted father, loving son, brother, uncle and friend to so many. He will be sorely missed.
“We would like to thank everybody for their overwhelming support during this difficult time.”
An inquest has been opened into the death of the 43-year-old, of Riverside, Wilton.
At a hearing in Winchester, area coroner Jason Pegg said the preliminary cause of death was blunt force trauma to the chest.
He adjourned the inquest to July 20.
Enquiries remain ongoing into the exact circumstances of the collision.
Police last week issued an appeal to witnesses to come forward and share any information they may have about the incident.
Officers remain keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the silver Citroen between 1am and 5.30am last Sunday.
