ANOTHER Swindon property has been sealed by police as the crackdown on County Lines drugs gangs continues.

Operation Samphire, which ran in the town last week, saw 61 people arrested over five days during raids and proactive patrols.

On the back of this work, officers from Swindon Community Policing Team obtained a partial closure order for an address in Lennox Drive.

The order was granted yesterday at Swindon Magistrates' Court.

It means that anyone other than the resident or those listed on the notice are prevented from entering the property. By doing so, they may be committing an offence and may be arrested.

Sergeant Richard Fay said: "Closure orders of this nature are sought for properties where there have been reports of continued drug activity.

"It is hoped that by putting these orders in place, the resident will be prevented from allowing the property to be used for criminal activity and it will provide a level of protection for the local community.

"Operation Samphire was a huge success and I’d like to reassure the community that officers are continuing to follow up community concerns and intelligence gleaned from this operation.

"We are keen to keep the momentum going and will continue to ensure Swindon remains a hostile environment for those causing harm to our community through drug dealing."

If you suspect drug activity in your neighbourhood, please report it by calling 101.
