Swindon Striders’ route from the Croft Sports Centre - 6.3 miles - is hilly and ideal training territory.

From the Croft Sports Centre main car park use the service road which takes you right on to Marlborough Lane and then head towards Pipers Way

Carry along and down Pipers Way until you reach the junction with Croft Road

Taking care to cross the road – turn left towards Wroughton

Go over the motorway and continue along Swindon Road

Turn right in to Lister Road then right in to Burderop Close and continue through the houses until you reach a footpath

Turn left and follow the path until you reach the junction with another footpath - turn right here

Following this path up and over the footbridge which crosses the motorway

Once over the bridge turn immediately left on to a short path

At the end turn right and stay on the path/road which will take you to a wild green area

Follow the concrete path, which cuts through this area, up until you reach Mill Lane

Turn right and continue along Westlecot Road

Follow Westlecot Road turning left in to Town Gardens

Go through the gardens coming out and turning left on to Quarry Road

Turn right on to Bath Road and then left on to Victoria Road

Follow Victoria Hill down turning right on to Durham Street

Just before the sharp left-hand bend turn right in to Queens Park

Go through the park coming out and turning right on to Drove Road

Follow the road up in to Old Town, continuing back to the Croft Sports Centre

Turn right in to Evelyn Street and then immediately left in to Marlborough Lane to get back to Croft
