THREE schools in the district have closed because of flooding.

Dixons Cottingley Academy is closed to students today due to flooding.

Staff are to attend the academy as normal.

Bradford Council says further information will be available on the website and it is expected to reopen tomorrow.

Cottingley Village Primary School could be closed all week.

Three quarters of the school is flooded inside the building and investigation will be required.

The school says it is awaiting support from Bradford Council and updates will be posted on the school's private Facebook page.

It will update when it has more information to share in the week.

Oxenhope CofE Primary School is also closed today.

A statement says: "The difficult decision has been made to close the school today. This is due to flood damage in school and difficult access into the village via the roads.

"We are very sorry for any inconvenience."
