AN ASSAULT victim suffered injuries to his face while in the town centre during the early hours.
The attack happened outside Cafe Nero on Bridge Street at around 2.20am on Saturday February 1.
There were said to be a number of people in the area at the time.
The 21-year-old local man injured in the assault ended up being looked after by door staff from the nearby Edge nightclub.
An ambulance took the victim to hospital. He has since been discharged.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault and are encouraging anyone who can help them with their investigation to come forward.
PC Paul Simpson said: "This was a busy area and someone must have seen something.
"Did you hear or see anything suspicious in the area at this time?
"If you know anything about this, then please contact us on 101."
