THE Swindon Male Voice Choir has invited fellow choristers from Wales to join a special concert as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations.

The South Wales Male Choir will be special guests at the Swindon group's centenary concert at Christ Church on February 28 from 7.30pm.

This will be the first time that both choirs have shared the stage and performed together.

Concert secretary Gordie Smith said: "The men and their supporters from across south Wales are looking forward to this, their first visit to Swindon in many years.

"It promises to be an exciting occasion with heart felt and passionate singing in English - and some in Welsh. This will be a fabulous concert with two very good choirs, lovely venue, friendship and camaraderie all included.

"To provide a variety to the male voices, there will be special performances by Matilda Wale. She is an excellent young soprano singer from Swindon who will be a lovely youthful contrast to finish the billing for our exciting concert."

Matilda is currently studying music and singing at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

The concert is a charity fundraiser with all proceeds being donated to Prostate Cancer UK.

Tickets cost £10 each and can be bought in person from choir members or by calling 01793 822495 or by emailing swindonmalevoicechoir@msn.com
