A PEDESTRIAN is in a "critical condition" after a city-centre crash yesterday.
The collision happened at around 1.10pm on Shipley Airedale Road, close to its junction with Filey Street.
It involved a blue Volvo XC 60 and a man in his thirties.
The man suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI).
Police confirmed today that he is in a critical but stable condition.
The crash yesterday sparked a huge response from emergency services.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene and landed at a nearby car park.
Shipley Airedale Road was also closed for much of the afternoon leading to a pile up of rush-hour traffic in most directions.
Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of what happened.
If you can help, you should contact the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team either by calling 101, or using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
You should quote log reference number: 765 of February 12.
