Swindon-based projects are among the lucky recipients of The National Lottery’s special 25th birthday fund.
#CelebrateNationalLottery25 invited applications from anyone wanting to make a difference in their local community, offering awards of up to £1,000.
Projects and activities being funded by the money in Swindon include Swindon Gets Creative, a one-day event in May hosted by local mental health charity IPSUM, Celebrate Art hosted by Prime Theatre, and Swindon Volunteers, a celebration of volunteering and community work in the town.
Over 10 projects in Wiltshire will receive money after applying to the £2 million pot last December.
The aim is to fund initiatives which generate togetherness across communities after a National Lottery survey revealed being part of a community makes people feel happier, less lonely and mentally healthier.
