There’s still time to sign-up to plant trees in Penhill.

Penhill Naturehood, along with Swindon Junior Reps and Swindon Climate Action Network, are encouraging volunteers to come along and help put 150 saplings and 50 shrubs into the ground on Saturday, February 22.

The original event was due to take place last weekend but had to be postponed due to the severe weather.

A spokesperson for the Penhill Street Reps said: “No experience is necessary, come along and join us in leaving a wildlife and woodland legacy for Penhill.”

Planting will happen between 10.30am and 2.30pm in Minty Road Park in Penhill, which lies between Minty Road and Ramsbury Avenue.

Those looking to take part will meet at the Pocket Park on Ramsbury Avenue, near the shops on Atworth Close. Refreshments and bathroom facilities will be available at the Chippenham Close Community Centre, just off Ramsbury Avenue.
