1. Butterfly World and Farm Park at Studley Grange, Wroughton SN4 9QT

For Andrea Harper it’s the top place to go with her children.

Visitors to Butterfly World enter a carefully-created warm habitat which is home to some of the most beautiful creatures in the world.

It’s a great place to go in any sort of weather so the fact it has been raining all week shouldn’t stop anyone going out.

Other Studley Grange attractions include a popular indoor soft playground and a craft village.

2. Oasis Leisure Centre, North Star Avenue SN2 1EP

The entertainment and sports complex is the perfect place for Steve Yeardley to take his family.

It’s been a school holiday favourite all year round since it opened in the 1970s.

This is largely thanks to the impressive flumes and pools, which were a state-of-the-art tourist attraction all those years ago and are still a major draw.

There is a large main pool and a smaller one, and the former boasts a lagoon, a wave machine, a water cannon and slides.

Between Monday and Friday it’s open from 6.15am until 10.30pm.

And at the weekend it’s open from 7.15am until 7pm.

3. Roves Farm, Sevenhampton SN6 7QG

For Sam Fletcher it’s a great place to go when school’s out.

Roves Farm combines fun and wonder with encouraging respect for the countryside and the flora and fauna it supports.

Children can meet and feed farm animals like goats, pigs and chickens.

Each day an activity is put on for the whole family, whether that’s walking the sheep, brushing the donkeys or doing arts and crafts.

4. Jungle Kingdom Soft Play, Groundwell Industrial Estate SN25 5AY

Jungle Kingdom at Crompton Road is the perfect place for children to burn off some energy.

And babies as young as six months up to 10 years old can have fun there.

There are slides, ball pits, trampolines and climbing frames.

And if it’s a little one’s birthday people can book in a party from £10.95 per child.

Adults can go to the Explorers Cafe for hot or cold food and drinks.

Jungle Kingdom is open seven days a week from 9.30am until 6pm.

5. Sprouts Play Barn, Millets Farm Centre, Abingdon OX13 5HB

A bit further afield, Sprouts is a winner for Paul Lou Scriver.

Paul said: “It’s a bit further out but Sprouts Play Barn at Millets Farm is fab and there’s the animals on site and the garden centre and park.”

The Play Barn is supposed to be fun and educational.

There’s a huge play frame, a floor piano, a sports court and a role play farmers market.

And it offers a section for children under five. According to its website these games help develop motor skills, decision making, teamwork and spacial awareness.

It is every day of the week 9.15am until 5.30pm.

6. Jolly Roger Adventure Centre, Greenbridge Road SN3 3JE

Cherie Anne Adams says Jolly Roger is a good place to go for the whole family over half-term.

It’s the biggest play centre in Swindon and has has bouncy castles, a drop slide and an astral slide.

And there are various party rooms including a football pitch for children to celebrate their birthday.

Children with disabilities can go along to SENS session on every last Thursday of the month. This is for just over an hour. starting at 6.15pm.

7. Rugrats and Halfpints, Cirencester GL7 1YA

The amusement centre at Meadow Road is said to be good for kids big or small by Adver readers.

It is open for children of any age up to 10 years old.

Rugrats has a soft play area, a play frame and a cafe for the adults.

And it closes for one day a month for its disability sessions.

The centre is open seven days a week from 9.30am to 6pm.
