Seven Fields parkrun and Lydiard parkrun are inviting everyone to celebrate International Women’s Day.
A special event will be held on March 7 starting at 9am, ahead of International Women’s Day the following day.
In partnership with Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign, which aims to address the gender gap seen in sports, women and girls are being encouraged to participate in the 5K events as either walkers, runners or volunteers and to dress in purple.
Men are welcome to take part too.
A spokesperson for the event said: “We would love you to join in the celebrations by bringing along a female friend, colleague or family member and walking, jogging, running or volunteering at your local parkrun. You could even just come along to watch or cheer.”
