Countryside traffic was stopped as a classic two-seater vehicle was seen whizzing around the Cotswolds country lanes.

Drivers may have thought they had gone back in time as they saw a Morgan Plus 4 containing two people in 1920’s costume whizzing around Ewen and Somerford Keynes.

The duo were in fact actors from Cirencester’s Barn Theatre, and they were shooting several short films including the £45,000 car to promote their upcoming play containing the popular characters - Jeeves and Wooster.

Toby Blythe of the Morgan Motor Company said: “We were contacted by The Barn Theatre to see if we could help, when I heard the premise of the shoot, I was only too happy to help.

"We do a great deal of work with the press and media with cars on the new series of Top Gear amongst a few other things.”

The award winning theatre is putting on a production and reimagining of the classic P.G. Wodehouse play.

This version is called Perfect Nonsense by the Goodale Brothers and is adapted from the original - Code of the Woosters, which scooped the 2014 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.

In this version three actors hurl themselves from role to role as they race to tell the story of Bertie’s farcical adventures.

The production is part of a tour and will be at Chipping Norton before coming to The Barn Theatre from April 21 to May 9.
