DOG poo has been left all over the fields used by Stratton's junior football teams.

Angry dog owners said it was down to a group of people who not clean behind their pets.

They said it was making them look bad as well as ruining young player's enjoyment of their games.

Here's what you told us on Facebook...

Zoë Zerebecki: "The field is always full of dog mess, my daughter plays football there.

"I've actually picked up someone else's dogs mess, so that none of the players fell into it."

Nicola Pike: "It's disgusting the amount left on the playing field."

Sue Scarrott: " Unfortunately, this is a regular occurrence in Stratton.

"It doesn't cost much to buy the poo bags."

Mark Keylock: " Lazy pet owners, if you can't clean it up, you shouldn't be allowed to own one!"

Darren Sims: " Nothing's changed from when I used to coach.

"We'd play at Meadowcroft and take a shovel."

John Fowler: "People should not be exercising a dog on a recreation field.

"It's not healthy even if the mess is picked up."

Jill Cuss: "It happens everywhere. Thoughtless, inconsiderate dog owners that do not clear up after their dogs.

"They give all caring owners a bad name. It is not acceptable."

Tina Rowlands: "I've noticed the past few months, it's been getting worse in all Stratton areas.

"If you can't be responsible enough to clean up after the dog, you shouldn't have one."

Kay Masters: "It's got worse in the last four months.

"It's disgusting, you can get 100 bags for 49p."

Jeanette Cook: "It's been like that for years and years.

"It is just not good that people do not have respect for others and the environment we all live in."

Sammi Bench: "If you live in the area you would understand that there are a lot of foxes in this area!

"I understand people should pick up their dog mess, but it can't all go to the blame of dog owners."

Steve Pearce: "There should be areas set aside for dog walking and it should be illegal to walk a do on or near a recreation area.

"Yes, there are 'responsible' owners but there are far more lazy, disgusting irresponsible owners that spoil it for everyone.

"Unfortunately, and in the interest of safety, the rules have to be such that it prevents those owners that think they are above the law from doing as they please."

Darren Parkinson: "It's the same everywhere. And it drives me mad.

"The footpath from Moredon to Woodhall Park is full of mess on all the verges and every bit of grass in site.

"Massive fines and people's name and shaming in social media with photos is the way forward unless fines are increased."

Craig Tyh Thomas: "There should be stronger consequences.

"Stick more prominent signs up and increase the consequences, even if it is just a larger fee like £200."

Laura Harker: "This is getting bad on the field, not the dog's fault, but I now dislike dogs as whenever I see one, all I can smell is the poo they leave all over Stratton, and even if it's picked up, it's still stuck to the grass."

Steve Wright: "I have been visiting a friend right opposite the football field and seen a bloke with two dogs letting their mess everywhere.

"I went out and told him to pick it up even offered him a bag and all I got was a mouth full of abuse.

"It's just the same in Blunsdon field, it is full of dog mess."
