THIS Saturday's Winchester parkrun has been cancelled because of the wet weather.
The run last weekend was called off because of Storm Dennis.
North Walls Rec, also aptly-named as River Park, is currently saturated and the River Itchen is close to bursting its banks at the park.
The new flood barriers have been deployed at the Park Avenue entrance next to the School of Art.
One of the organisers David Howells said this afternoon: "On the advice of the city council we have cancelled this Saturday’s parkrun (22/02/20). Such a pity as we were planning a special event to celebrate the role of volunteers who make parkrun happen."
The organisers say they accept that no undue risks can be taken to the health and safety of participants.
Poor weather is being predicted as Storm Ellen sweeps across the UK, the third weekend of bad weather.
