A TEEN boy has admitted stabbing another six times in the buttocks and leg in East Wichel.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified as he is under 18, will be sentenced at a date to be fixed.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court via video link from HMP Parc, Bridgend, the boy pleaded guilty to wounding with intent and possession of cannabis. He denied possession of a knife and affray.
Prosecutor Charles Thomas said those pleas would be acceptable to the Crown.
The charges relate to a stabbing on January 17 on Mattocks Path, near the East Wichel canal.
An man in his 20s was was set upon by a group of young men armed with baseball bats. Video footage described to the court showed the teen running into the melee and stabbing the young man.
The victim received six stab wounds to his legs and buttocks. The wounds were stitched.
