BROADGREEN: Cyrus Dias, 23, of Rosebery Street, admitted drug driving. He was banned from the roads for a year, fined £120 and must pay £117 in costs and surcharge.

TOWN CENTRE: Asif Hamza, 35, of York Road, was given a two year conditional discharge after he admitted stealing £144.50-worth of fragrances from Marks and Spencer. He must pay a £21 victim surcharge.

OLD TOWN: Jack Moran, 30, of Lansdown Road, admitted assault by beating. He was given a 12 month community order, must pay £250 compensation and complete 250 hours of community service.

Magistrates ordered £85 costs and a £90 victim surcharge.

TOWN CENTRE: Jason Smith, 34, of Sheppard Street, admitted stealing more than £460-worth of scratchcards from the Co-op and West Swindon Asda last June.

He was ordered to pay compensation to the two stores.

TOWN CENTRE: Anthony Broadbent, 32, of Milton Road, was charged with three counts of supplying class A drugs to undercover police officers. He was bailed to appear before Swindon Crown Court on February 28 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

WALCOT: Magistrates granted an application from Wiltshire Police for a three month closure order on a Lennox Drive house.

The order prohibits anyone except the tenant, emergency workers and council officers from entering the property.

PINEHURST: Chelsea Chomiw, 23, of Beech Avenue, was found not guilty of two counts of assault by beating.

STRATTON: Jason Robb, 34, of Swindon Road, was fined £225 and given six points on his licence for driving a Ford Transit van carelessly on Shrivenham Road.

The US citizen must pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

WROUGHTON: Daniel Robertson, 29, of Thorney Park, was found guilty of using a certificate of insurance with intent to deceive – an offence under the Road Traffic Act.

He was fined £440 and ordered to pay a £44 victim surcharge. The court record says he refused to leave his cell and the case was heard in his absence.

SWINDON: Francisco Mira, 42, of Chopin Mews, was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the driver of a Vauxhall panel van suspected of having been involved in a crime.

He was fined £660 and must pay £250 costs and a £66 victim surcharge.

M4: Sukhwinder Saggi, 49, of Kingsbridge Road, Southall, had denied speeding in his personalised numberplate BMW 530i on the M4 near Swindon last May.

Magistrates found him guilty, fining him £657 and adding six penalty points to his licence. He must pay £250 costs and a £65 victim surcharge.
