A small Wiltshire village’s life-saving defibrillator has been destroyed.
The damage was caused to the automated external defibrillator (AED) which is located in a former phone box on Andover Road in Upavon at some point between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Local parish councillor Mandy Wernham told Wiltshire999 that the device was “wrecked beyond repair” in “a mindless act of vandalism.
"Lets hope no one needs it," she added.
It’s one of just two devices located in public spaces in the village with a population of 4,400 people.
Wiltshire Police is investigating.
Anyone with information relating to this incident is asked to contact Wiltshire Police by calling them on 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
