A PUP rescued from North Africa is looking for an energetic home.

German Shepherd-Saluki cross Star was in a shelter in Morocco before she was brought across to SNDogs in November of last year.

The one-year-old is currently being looked after by foster-carer Sheila Harper.

She said: “She’s very funny. She can look really regal one moment and then the next minute she’s acting like a puppy again. She’s basically a big puppy.”

Sheila believes that Star would benefit from an energetic home which has older children.

“I have a seven-year-old and she’s fine with them. She loves children and she’s very good with them. She makes sure they’re fine, she always looks back to check they’re okay.”

Despite her energetic nature, Star has a calmer side.

Sheila told the Adver: “She can be cuddly and quiet but then she’ll get a burst of energy and dash about. She likes to run around but also chill out and sleep.”

Star needs someone who is home often and she still needs some training, but she is very good on the lead and is calm around other dogs.

Anyone interested in giving Star a home should visit sndogs.uk/adopt-a-dog and fill out the application form.

A home check will then be conducted, taking between 30 minutes and a couple of hours, before a decision is made.

After the family has been accepted the foster carer will make contact and arrange a time to meet the dog.

SNDogs runs a foster organisation based in Pinehurst, where homeless and rescued dogs are looked after in a network of volunteer homes.
