THE Clintons card shop in West Swindon will close for good on Mother's Day.
A representative for the card and gift retailer said: “Following the sale of the business to Esquire Retail Limited in December 2019, we are reviewing the leases in our store portfolio.
"We can confirm that the Swindon store in the West Swindon Centre will be closing on Sunday March 22.
"In this case, the terms of the lease renewal for our Swindon store were cost prohibitive and we have been forced to take the difficult decision to close the store.
"It is business as usual for our additional store on Regent Street in Swindon.”
People on the West Swindon facebook group said they were sad to see it go.
One said: "Shame, I love Clintons cards. The staff in there are always so welcoming and helpful. Good luck ladies."
Another added: "As a member of staff, even though we are not overly busy, we do well... and I find the shop busier now than ever."
