A PAIR of brothers from Nottinghamshire deny stabbing two men in Old Town last year.

Appearing before Swindon Crown Court yesterday, Montel and Nathan Burke pleaded not guilty to two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

They are alleged to have attacked Christopher Barnes and Ben Fanso in a house on Victoria Road, Old Town, on July 8 last year.

One man, 30s, suffered stab wounds to his head and body and another in his 20s stabbed in the shoulder. A trail of blood could be seen leading from the side door of a house on Victoria Road towards Union Row.

The men spoke only to confirm their names and their not guilty pleas.

Judge Paul Cook bailed the men to appear before the crown court on July 8 for trial.

Montel Burke, 22, of Deabill Street, Netherfield, Nottinghamshire, was bailed with a requirement not to enter Wiltshire except for meetings with his lawyers and for court appearances.

He was told he must live and sleep at his home address.

Nathan Burke, 30, of Beaconsfield Street, Nottingham, must report to his local police station every Saturday.

He is banned from coming to Wiltshire except for court appearances, meetings with his lawyers and to collect or drop-off his children in Swindon every Friday and Sunday.

Both men have bail conditions not to contact the complainants in the case.
