Chippenham Close Community Centre is hosting an open day.

The centre, which has been closed for five years, was taken over by Renew Men’s Shed in July 2019.

The organisation, which aims to provide a communal place for people to pursue practical hobbies, learn skills and enjoy making and mending with others, has renovated the hall for the community.

Between 10am-4pm today, people are invited to visit the centre to have their say on how they would like the hall used.

Dawn Prosser, treasurer for Renew Men’s Shed, said: “This is an opportunity for locals to have a look at what’s been done to transform it, let people know what’s planned and ask them what they would like from their local centre.”

Swindon Night Shelter is providing a free cafe and organisations offering services in the area will attend.
