A SINGER who made her name on The Voice Kids teamed up with a neighbour to perform a live concert on Facebook.

Phoebe Maddison lives in Haywain Close and decided to sing on her doorstep yesterday as Michelle Souter, 40, joined in from hers.

It was live streamed on Facebook yesterday at 4pm in a bid to lifting people’s spirits.

Phoebe told the Adver: “It was amazing because everyone on the street was at their door, it was just incredible.

“Everyone got into the swing of things, they were dancing and clapping along. It was overwhelming at first, it almost brought a tear to my eye.”

She told everybody living on her street about their plan to perform in a private WhatsApp group.

Phoebe, 16, said: “It’s also for a good cause and to give support.”

They performed to help raise awareness of the work the NHS staff and carers are doing during the pandemic.

Speaking soon after the gig ended yesterday, Phoebe said: “The support was absolutely wonderful, so many people shared it and commented, there’s around 900 views so far.”

The pair plan on performing again once lockdown is over.
