Sainsbury’s has lifted some restrictions on products at its stores.

This includes Easter eggs where all limits have been removed.

CEO Mike Coupe said: “We will start to remove some limits on the number of certain non-essential products you can buy.

“Limits will remain in place on the most popular items which include UHT milk, pasta and tinned tomatoes.

“We have removed limits from Easter eggs immediately as we know families often want to buy more than three and we have plenty of these in all stores and online.”

Here’s what you said on Facebook:

Nick Walters: “So more people will flock to the supermarkets to get Easter eggs.

“It was working when you could only buy two or three of each item, why change it.”

Sandra Hollands: “It’s very hard trying to do my parents' shopping, before all this I would do one lot of shopping take back to car and then do the other but now with the all the queues to get in it’s like someone said, try and buy in one shop then going to another to buy the rest.

“I picked up a couple of Easter eggs this week for my grandsons. I’ve only two but some people have many grandchildren, surely buying extra eggs won’t hurt?

“We’re all keeping away from them at least let them have an egg that can be either saved for them or dropped off on the doorstep.”

Robert Sherborne: “Gimme a break Easter is not about getting fat on chocolate.”

John Edmeades: “Anyone want to swap toilet roll for three Easter eggs? Come on people get real. I thought it was clear enough, just shop for essentials. It seems that a great deal of people just can’t understand basic Guidelines. rules or instructions or maybe they just don’t want to.”

Julie Stone: “Won’t be able to see my grandchildren over Easter so I’ve told them they can have some money instead of Easter eggs, they can enjoy spending it when all this is over”

Lea-Ann Loader: “It is because they are not selling and they want to get rid so have more space in stock rooms”

Linda Drury: “What a pity they have not restricted my greedy neighbour who is having daily deliveries!

“From all three major shops but mainly Sainsbury’s. They are a young fit family of three, not once asked if they can help any older neighbours.”

Ruth Gorski: “Wait till after Easter like last year half price or less.”

Keith Bircher: “I think in these testing times kids need some sort of normality and if that’s an Easter egg on Sunday then I don’t see a problem.

“I don’t think people should make extra trips to go and get them as they are not “essential” but include them in their shopping on their visit.

"We all need some light relief right now. Stay safe and eat cake.”

Chris Giles: “Apparently people are now throwing away masses of food that’s gone past its best before date. These people should be fined for hoarding it in the first place.”

Vanessa Reed: “All supermarkets should not have Easter eggs to buy for pennies after Easter, otherwise I think everyone will start to rush out and get them, then all the good work of staying in will be undone again.”

Jess Emery: “Why were Easter Eggs ever restricted items? Every year supermarkets sell them off half price or less to get rid of them.”

Margaret Savage: “I think it’s okay for kids to get an Easter egg.

"They have had to stay in and not see their friends, no school, no going to the park, if you’re going shopping it’s okay.”

Rachel Louise: “That’s cause they need to get shot of them. No grandparents have been buying as they can’t see their grandchildren to hand them over!”
