A new Sainsbury's store will be opening in Swindon

The supermarket chain announced today that it will be opening a Sainsbury's Local in Tadpole Garden Village.

It will be located at the Tadpole Local Centre and is set to open this summer.

This marks another addition to the growing development after it has already seen the opening of a play park, primary and secondary schools as well as new plans for a pub with Arkells Brewery.

Andrew Dobson, managing director of Crest Nicholson Strategic Projects, said: “This agreement with Sainsbury’s is an important milestone for the residents at Tadpole Garden Village.

"Since we first started work here in 2013, we’ve created a flourishing community with schools and a park to go alongside the homes we’ve built.”

Tracey Gallacher, head of sales and marketing at Crest Nicholson South West, added: “Having such a well-known and popular store at Tadpole Garden Village is great news for residents and potential buyers alike.

"The development has been consistently improving since we first started work, and the new store will be an excellent addition.”
