AN online 'Festival of Happiness' will look to spread a little joy across the district during the coronavirus crisis.

'HappyU@Home, held this Sunday between noon and 8pm, billed as a celebration of humanity, will include 32 acts.

It is the brainchild of Kelly Williams, of Wilsden, who spearheads the Spread a Little Sunshine campaign, which aims to support and help people during the coronavirus pandemic, lifting their spirits with daily updates on social media.

Everyone who donates will be entered into a prize draw with a holiday to Thailand worth more than £1,000 the star prize.

Miss Williams, 43, said: "It's a celebration of kindness and is just a positive thing to share.

"It's an open Facebook group, anybody can join, it does not cost anything. They can dip in and out at any point during the day.

"Every single person who donates to the Go Fund Me page gets put into the prize draw. People are donating different prizes.

"I’m newly self-employed so unfortunately don't qualify for any government support and due to current circumstances, I’m having to think outside the box.
