The Cotswold Show and Food Festival has been cancelled due to coronavirus.

It was due to be held at Cirencester Park on July 11 and 12. This is only the second time the show has been cancelled in its 30 years of history, the first being due to an outbreak of foot and mouth in 2001.

Lord Bathurst said: “It is recognised that it would be impossible, despite it being an outdoor event, to be able to safely implement any social distancing requirements in place at the time; particularly with crowds packed around the arenas along with the bustling marquees.”

“This has been a difficult decision to make. We have waited as long as possible, whilst in contact with the relevant authorities.

"With no major changes to legislation around this type of event, and along with many others also postponed to 2021, we know this is the right and responsible thing to do as we have a duty of care to all those attending and indeed working at the Show.”

The show has been rescheduled for July 3 and 4 in 2021.
