A DISQUALIFIED, uninsured driver who had "no regard for anyone else's safety" had a car seized from him earlier today.

Officers from Wiltshire Police stopped a vehicle this morning that was travelling along the A303 at a very low speed.

Checks on the driver and the vehicle showed that he is currently disqualified from driving, there was no insurance on the car, the MOT expired pre-lockdown extensions, there were two defective brake lights and he was not wearing his seatbelt when he was stopped.

Officers required him to provide a specimen of saliva for analysis to which he failed for cannabis.

He has been arrested for all of the above offences and was taken to Melksham Custody.

Here a sample of blood was taken and he was interviewed about the other driving offences.

The vehicle has been seized.

PC Scott said: “This was a good result off the back of a proactive stop. Had the vehicle not been travelling at such low speeds, it may have not attracted our attention.

"The driver clearly had no regard for anyone else’s safety when he chose to get behind the wheel today.”
